Our Story
green DogGoods’ beginning was much different than what you see today. In 2004, we started as an in-home training and pet sitting business. We always felt there was a need for a more natural and holistic approach to pet care and nutrition in our Fort Wayne community.
In 2008, we opened green DogGoods, a store in tiny a building on East State Boulevard. We quickly outgrew this space and in 2010 moved to our current North Anthony Blvd location which afforded us the space to add holistic grooming, an animal apothecary, a healthy dog bakery and a training center. The community’s support for this dream of ours is a testament to Fort Wayne’s interest in the health and well-being of dogs and cats.
We work hard to create a customer and pet-centric environment and provide a place that people and dogs (and the occasional cat visitor) feel at home. We care about you and your pet and want to help you care for them for years to come.
Our Team
Lesley
Owner | Behavior Specialist | Herbalist | Maker of Magical Treats
Lesley has spent her entire life with animals. From rehabbing horses, to finally focusing on (wo)man’s best friend: the dog, Lesley has spent decades training and educating herself to help people develop happy and healthy relationships with their pets. That’s really what green DogGoods means to her: a relationship-building and wellness center. Lesley is a graduate of Purdue University’s DOGS! Course: Principles and Techniques of Behavior Modification and is continuing her education in Canine Nutrition.
Jody
Owner | Dog Trainer | Maker of Magical Treats
Jody spent half her life working as a mental health professional. She entered the pet care field in 2004 caring for pets who often faced behavioral and health issues. Her passion to help is an integral part of what is now green DogGoods. Jody maintains Professional and Supporting Membership respectively in The Association of Professional Dog Trainers and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. Jody graduated from Purdue University’s DOGS! Course: Principles and Techniques of Behavior Modification, is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, CPDT-KA. (She is also green DogGoods’ cat specialist!)
Krista
Magical Unicorn
Krista has always been an animal lover. She grew up as a “city kid” but enjoyed any chance to spend time on her great grandparents’ farm. She loved tending the animals with grandpa and helping in the garden with grandma. Now, she is lucky enough to have a small homestead with plenty of critters to care for. You can find Krista around the store or baking up special home made cookies and treats for your furry family members!
Tiffany
Trainer | Enrichment Specialist
When Tiffany met a fabulously scruffy little staffy mutt named Petey, she knew her life was about to change…she just had no idea how much. Classes at green DogGoods provided a framework for communication with her handsome but complicated bestie, and 2020 landed Tiffany on her dog training journey with the same classes that had enabled her to work with Petey. Tiffany is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), a Fear Free Certified Professional (FFCP), and an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. You can find her in class, around the store, or talking enrichment toys, a subject that she and Petey have explored extensively.
